Doing voiceovers is really
cool!!! A voiceover, often abbreviated VO , is a method where
a voice talent, announcer or narrator's voice or voices are
heard over something. In Chcago and most other cities,
the narrator of a documentary or the announcer introducing a show
host would be considered a voiceover artist. A voiceover or voice talent
from Chicago or anywhere else can have a good career, but there
is a pantload of competition in Chicago and all over for
assignments that use a narrator, an announcer, different voices or a
voiceover ( VO ) talent. Many screen and television actors in Chicago
with distinctive voice talent abilities are highly in demand for
commercials and voiceover work. If he/she provides a voice over for a
product, the audience will sense an overall feeling of quality and
distinction. A different voiceover or VO artist or voice talent might
provide a warmer, folksier tone for products such as gardening tools. If
you're ready and think you can handle the competition, then put together a
demo and do it!

demo for voiceover work. In Chicago, you'll be up against some big voice
talent competition, so you'll want to have a lot of things in place to
help you get that big job. Like I said, you'll need a good voiceover demo.
Also, make sure you dress well for that VO or narrator gig. Even the
announcer at a ratty event will want to dress appropriately. There's bound
to be some good shops in the Chicago area, so go for it as first
impressions last a long time.
