Info ... The word or phrase voice talent, also known as voiceover, VO or voice-over, refers to an audio production method where a person’s voice is either broadcast live or pre-recorded in radio advertising , television, etc. In Albuquerque, the voiceover may be spoken by someone who also appears on screen in other segments or it may be done by a voice talent in Albuquerque. Voiceover or VO is also referred to as "off screen" commentary in Albuquerque. A Voiceover talent or announcer can also use voices and characterization as a narrator of training videos and/or documentaries. Voice talent vo, voiceover or announcer or narrator talents often don’t make it in Albuquerque because the talent doesn't understand the character for which they are auditioning, or they have no versatility or they haven't prepared a unique voice or they aren't able to take direction. Having said all that, Albuquerque is a great place do get involved with voiceover work and voice talents. If you want to be an announcer, narrator or voice talent, Albuquerque is a good place to start. Many in the voiceover industry have already moved there along with copious amounts of movie production studios. But, that's also the problem. There are way more voiceover talents than there are jobs in Albuquerque. You need to be on top in voice talent marketing and need to try and be some of the first VO artists on the spot with a good demo, appropriate dress and great attitude. Boy, I loved my trips to Albuquerque. It's a nice place, though kinda in the middle of nowhere. I've done several voiceover and announcer jobs in the area and have had a lot of fun. The people of Albuquerque are great and friendly. Even most of the announcer, voiceover and voice talents are nice to work with. One of my favorite gigs was at the Indian casino there. Its the one on top of the voiceover hill just outside Albuquerque proper. We had a good time and ate at several wonderful voice talent restaurants. Then, we traveled up to the mountaintop and did some announcer and narrator gigs there as well. All in all, I'd say if I was in the market to move somewhere with my voiceover talent, then I'd think about Albuquerque, even though it's surrounded by nothing, basically. For announcer work, I've gone to Santa Fe as well. That's a nice place, too, but a little too artsy fartsy for my particular voice talent. |
