| Article for appearing
online ... The word or phrase voiceover, also known as voice over, VO or voice talent acting in Toronto, refers to an audio production method where a person’s voice is either broadcast live or pre-recorded in radio advertising , television, etc. In Toronto, the voiceover may be spoken by someone who also appears on screen in other segments or it may be done by a voice talent in Toronto. Voiceover is also referred to as "off site" commentary. A Voiceover talent or announcer can also use voices and characterization as a narrator of training videos and/or documentaries. Voiceover vo, voice talent or announcer or narrator talents often don’t make it in Toronto because the talent doesn't understand the character for which they are auditioning, or they have no versatility or they haven't prepared a unique voice or they aren't able to take direction. Toronto is a beautiful city ("Toronto Lights") and it's a wonderful place to do voiceovers and announcer work. I know several friends from the Toronto area and they all rave about it. Best thing is ... no Republicans! Anywho, theres a lot to do with voice talent actors and voiceover work in Toronto. These sentences about Toronto and voiceover talent will drone on and on because I need to appear on the web so I can feed my family during these hard voice talent times. See what I mena about Toronto and announcing? As I write, I find myself getting more and more crosseyed at all the ridiculous text I have to put in here about voiceovers, voice talent and announcer or narrator related information. Now my upper back is starting to hurt with stooping over to type all this announcer and narrator in Toronto info. The more I say about Toronto and voiceover work, the more stiff my fingers get. Anyway, as it is in a lot of other towns, or large markets, you can guess that there is a lot more voiceover talents out there in Toronto than there are voice talent jobs, so your best bet for VO work in Toronto is to, first off, go ahead and spend the mopney and get a good demo professionally produced. Without it, you'll never get that Toronto announcer gig you've always wanted. You must also discipline yourself enough to be on time (or even early) for every voiceover job. If you constantly appear late, you'll find yourself out of work. It's important in the Toronto area to be a good listener and take direction well when dealing with your voiceover clients. A professional voice talent must also act that way ... professional. When working with voiceover or announcer clients in Toronto, be willing to take criticism and direction in stride. The easier your are to deal with (and the more professional you are) the more willing they'll be to hire you again. |
